You need affordable and fun accommodation but need your beauty sleep. Here is my selection of tried and tested non-party hostels in Latin America.

The land border crossing from Peru to Ecuador, by night, was one that we were really worried about. But it ended up being extremely smooth.

In Chiclayo, you must visit the 3 sites that are related to the Lords of Sipan: the cemetery, the museum of the cemetery and the museum showcase only what was found in their tombs.

Since everything touristic if closed on Monday - we spend the day relaxing in the hotel and (re) watch the Godfather on TV.

It's a short(ish) bus journey of 5h to Chiclayo and our last city in Peru before crossing to Ecuador. We spend the afternoon planning the next days.

We found a way to visit El Brujo, an important Moche site - it's half day. We spend the afternoon walking downtown.

We visit the two main sites close to Trujillo: Huaca de la Luna and Chan Chan. Two ancient cultures Moche and Chimu.

12hrs of bus during the day feels like forever. The roadside to Trujillo is not very nice and completely desertic.

The highlight of the day is our lunch at Tomo, a Nikkei Cuisine restaurant where we enjoy a sumptuous meal.
