Day 122

This morning, we stay in Darwin for two dives and then go to Wolf island for two dives.

The first dive had an amazing safety stop. We had for 3 minutes hundreds of hammerheads below us, uninterrupted flow! And above us, dolphins! We were drifting mid water in a such a fantastic situation!

The last dive at Darwin, after watching for 30min a ballet of sharks, we drifted on the sandy part of the dive site right in the middle of a school of hammerheads who just kept cruising around us. We are so lucky that all our dive buddies have amazing skills, we were just so calm and didn't make any sudden movements. We enjoyed this so much!

After 3 hours of sailing to wolf island, it was time to dive again. This time we aimed to see eagle rays and hammerheads. There were already hundreds in Darwin, but in Wolf it's where they clean themselves on the reef and we are supposed to see more.

We didn't see eagle ray on this dive, and the current was ripping. We got really banged up between the current and the strong surge as we shallowed up. If I thought we had seen enough of hammerheads, then I was mistaken. We saw waves of hundreds at once and some of the largest Galapagos sharks.

We were all pretty stunned after this dive but everyone still went for the fourth dive of the day. We got a shallower and safer spot to dive. This time, hammerheads only. But they came even closer than before, if I had extended my hands, I could have touched them. Our guide said that he has not seen this number of hammerheads for the last 26 years. Since the last el nino. We were spoiled. During our safety stop we got to see two eagle rays.

The evening was so pleasant today, we asked the crew of we could dine on the sundeck, and they agreed. We got to watch the sunset with a sumptuous diner. We are having an exceptional time. There are dolphins swimming by, sealions as well and thousands of birds on the cliff of the island. It's a beautiful scenery.
