Today's theme is Kauri. We see Tane Mahuta and walk to Te Matua Nghahere. We finish with a visit of the Kauri museum in Matakohe.

Long day: morning visiting the Waitangi grounds, then see the Stone House in Keri Keri and a dip into the rainbow falls. At night we hunt wild kiwis in Trounson Kauri park.

We dive into New-Zealand history for the next 2 days - and start with Te Ruapekapeka, Russel Museum and the Pompallier Mission.

Our last day of diving in the Poor knight was great, the weather was exceptionally calm so we could reach great dive sites.

We had to get our bearings, it's our first time cold water diving ! Amazing stuff underwater in the Poor Knights !

We hike a large part of the Te Whara trail today and what gorgeous views ! Then we drive to Tutukaka, we will be diving the Poor Knights in the coming days.

We continue our drive up the coast and stop at Abbey cave, Whangarei Falls and the A.H Reed Kauri park. Tonight is freedom camping at Ocean beach.

For our first day in the campervan we drive to Mangawhai, so we can walk the Cliffs. It's a stunning view below and a fairly easy walk.

Our first day was a blast: uneventful flight, easy arrival in NZ and reunion with friends !
