You need affordable and fun accommodation but need your beauty sleep. Here is my selection of tried and tested non-party hostels in Latin America.

We start the day with a 3h walking tour around the city center and in the afternoon, we visit two excellent museums: Botero Museum and Museo Del Oro.

There is a national taxi strike today, we are lucky to find one to get to the airport - but we get blocked and finish on a motorcycle. In Bogota we use our free afternoon to walk around downtown.

Another day of rest in Taganga but today, we have a cat. She was waiting for us in the kitchen as soon as we got out of the room and stayed the day.

Today is a glorious day of rest in Taganga, enjoying the view and the loft's hammock.

We are awake early, today is Colombia's national day and there is music everywhere. We walk to the village center to explore and stock up on some groceries.

This is a long and hard day - 2 steep uphills and a never ending knee crushing descent. You need a lot of endurance for this last day.

This is the day we get to see the Lost City ! It's much bigger than I thought and it was worth all the effort. My inner Indiana Jones is happy !

This is considered the hardest day on the trail - it's a long and hard one but we also get to enter indigenous territory and have a change to interact with them.
