From Cuiaba to Iguazu falls
This is our first stupid-o-clock flight that we had to take to save some money on these expensive Brazilian domestic flights. Our first flight to Sao Paulo is at 4 am, it’s the first one of the day. Which means we have to wake up at 1h30 am to get to the airport.
I can honestly say that I absolutely didn’t remember this 2h flight. I woke up with a pain in my neck and a very dry mouth. This must have been very inelegant for my seat neighbor. ( Alexis and I were not seated together for this leg ).
In Sao Paulo, we have time for a quick breakfast before our morning flight to Iguazu and we arrive in our guesthouse uneventfully by 11 am.
Since we have a few hours to kill before being able to check in, we use it to get our laundry done. As the drying cycle starts, we eat at a nearby restaurant, and half way through lunch, I go and collect our clothe.
In between all of this, we had time to sort our next two days out. Alexis got a contact from the reception of a transport service to the Argentinian side of the falls. We book it through whatsapp, I booked the Itapu dam tour for Monday morning. We will be doing the Brazilian side of the falls on Monday afternoon with the public bus – and if time permit, the bird park on the way back.
As we finally get to our bed. We decide to take a quick nap. This turned out to be a 4 hours long sleep – and I was absolutely dead. So much so that I bailed on our grocery shopping run. Alexis went on his own and I joined him when he was back in the kitchen.
We cooked ourselves an early diner and went straight back to bed.
