Galapagos: Bartholome viewpoint and snorkeling with penguins !

Today is another easy day. We have 2 dives in the morning and then land excursions.

The two morning dives are quite nice with some Galapagos sharks. But the afternoon is what was pretty awesome. First the land excursions on top of Bartholomé island to see the iconic view of the Galapagos is very interesting. On this short walk we get to see our first sea lions which are lounging on the jetty.

Then a lot of red bright and beautiful crabs on the shore.

As we go inland, it's a lot of lava lizard with their red throats that scuttle away as we walk on the walkway.

The island is volcanic and our guide explains about geology and the various lava formations around us. The goes at the top is beautiful.

And the highlight of the day is the snorkeling. They dropped us off just below the pinnacle where the penguins come to hunt ! We got to swim with penguins and the sealions came out to play too ! They get real close they are so curious . As for the penguins if you don't move too much, they don't mind you and swim around you, you get a very good view of them underwater. There was beautiful colored fishes and shrimps. It was absolutely fantastic !
