First day of travel to Mexico

We start a two days travel journey to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico.
Today we start with a flight from Sao Luis to Sao Paulo. There, we have 8 hours wait and I booked a lounge online in the public area. It was affordable and at least we can eat, take a shower and I get work on the blog or the planning.
We spent almost 1,5 month in Brazil. It's the longest country in Latin America we visited. And It's actually good to stay that long, because you have time to catch how things are working in the country. From dining etiquette, ordering stuff in the street and what to find where.
We found Brazil to be incredibly diverse. The culture here is colorful, vibrant and full of music. And the natural landscapes are very contrasted from South to North. The cities are too big for our liking and there is a lot of poverty. The inequalities are apparent wherever we went.
Brazil has been home to a few firsts for us:
- immense waterfalls ( Iguazu )
- safari ( Pantanal )
- river cruise ( Amazonas )
- beach buggy ride ( Jericoacoara )
- dam visit ( Itaipu binacional )
- swim in soft water laguna in the desert dunes ( Lençóis Maranhenses )
We are always smarter with hindsight. What I regret not spending more time in is Salvador. I would have loved to learn more about candomblé and the afro-brazilian culture. There was also another part of the town, towards the other peninsular that could have warranted another half day. I like this town a lot.
